Meet Chef Louis!

Our chef

Chef Louis Snowden, more commonly known as simply "Chef Louis", received a bachelor's degree in English from University of Kentucky and then spent several years in retail before switching to culinary arts, graduating in 1992.

Chef Louis became Executive Chef of Farmers Markets, Ranch Foods Inc. in Orange County, California and is a Certified Executive Chef through the American Culinary Federation.

Events

Events in which Chef Louis has participated include:

  • 1992-1994 Culinary Team for Academy Awards dinners held at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles
  • 1995 voted to top ten of up and coming chefs on the West coast
  • 1992 won Chef's Award from Arizona Bakers for breads and pastries
  • 1993 Zacky Farms award for poultry
  • Participated in Taste of Orange Country, Taste of LA Country, Taste of Newport Beach, Taste of Lexington, Taste of Cincinnati (the oldest running taste venue in the nation)
  • 2000 won Sweet Adventures Dessert & Pastry Competition in Cincinnati
  • Charitable work involves AIDS Project Los Angeles, AIDS Project San Francisco, and Habitat for Humanity

Notable Dinner Guests

Chef Louis cooked a luncheon for Julia Childs and one of her proteges. Other notables include: Margaret Cho, Heather Locklear, Aaron Spelling, PaulJunger-Witt and Susan Harris (Producer of Golden Girls and Empty Nest).

Personal caterer to Chuck Jones (Bugs Bunny Cartoonist in Laguna Beach, CA).

Chef Louis' Philosophy

Chef Louis grew up in Lexington and now lives in Covington, KY. He prides himself in having a cooking style that is anything but pretentious.
